Avi Weisfogel a Dentist, Businessman and Philanthropist

Operation Smile, a charity which was started in 1982 by a plastic surgeon, Dr. William Mcgee in the Philippines, in order to help the children who were born with facial deformities. They have recruited other medical professionals in this field as they found that the need for their work was somewhat overwhelming for just one person.


Avi Weisfogel, dentist, philanthropist and businessman was so touched by this charity that he has started a page called GoFund Me to aid Dr. Magee and his staff with donations for their much-needed work


There is now a staff of thousands who come from all corners of the world to help with this project. They are trained in the required surgery techniques to make these children who suffer from facial deformities whole again.


They have performed approximately 200,000 surgeries for children and young teens that are afflicted with a cleft palate or cleft lip in more than 100 countries. With the GoFund Me page, they will be able to continue their work to mend these children so they may lead a full life without ridicule because they are different.


From the beginning of his career, Avi Weisfogel has been working with people who suffer from sleep apnea and other sleep disorders.


He was born in Old Bridge, New Jersey. After graduating from New York University College of Dentistry with a doctorate degree and Rutgers University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology. He opened his first dental office in Old Bridge, and for many years was voted the Best Dentist in Old Bridge.


From that point, Avi continued to own Dental Sleep Masters Seminars. These seminars are used to teach people with sleep disorders, and especially sleep apnea, how to treat these disorders. Over the 16 years that he has been associated with these seminars he has also gained a lot of experience in the field


He then went on to start “Healthy Heart Sleep” which was meant to help not only him but other doctors to learn and teach people to treat and cope with their sleep problems.
