Icing has recipes?
I sort of like the canned icing, but the icing the way it used to be
(even if it's actually powdered sugar and lard, it isn't *slippery*
like the stuff they're using now).
I'll be out to Publix this morning.
Speaking of bakeries past, there was a wonderful place on 6th Avenue,
I think in the Gateway shopping center but I might have that wrong,
called Just Desserts. It closed down a few years ago. Well, if we
were typical customers, we showed up before Christmas to load up on
their iced sugar cookies and stayed away for the rest of the year.
But those sugar cookies were wonderful. This past year I ordered
them at the cookie place at the mall, and a holiday's worth of
cookies set us back nearly a hundred bucks! Mind you, if I'd been in
mind to add more carefully, it wouldn't have happened, but by the
time I got to the bottom of the list of stuff I wanted, I figured it
was Christmas and our older son had come home from California, so
what the heck. But that's enough (almost) to set me baking my own
cookies.
There's a little bakery in the shopping center where Westmeade
Pharmacy used to be, but I think they're a mafia front because they
never have any cookies.

JON STEWART: So in your mind, the truth is, the media couldn't
break Watergate today?
STEPHEN COLBERT: That's right, Jon, it just no longer has the
credibility.
JON STEWART: The media.
STEPHEN COLBERT: No. The truth.
