1) End the drug war. Allow people to consume whatever they wish to
consume. No more criminal gangs fighting over the trade when its legal.

2) Allow people to be armed. Criminals are scared to do commit crimes if
they think their intended victims may be armed. Disarm the population
with gun control etc and criminals will be empowered with the knowledge
their victims are disarmed. 
 
Simple as that. Violence will go WAY down.

Lol... What are you going to do if they use a sharped toothbrush handle,
a lawn dart, or a baseball bat? Sounds like another stupid idea. 

And since you are giving so many more people 'life' it will just more
people who will be let out so there is space for non violent drug
'offenders'.
