And how do you verify that the cameras were never turned off?
Or what if David Blaine was a cop? A good magician makes you see what
he wants you to see, while he does something you don't expect.

It would be incredibly easy to plant DNA. And you wouldn't have to
plant it at the crime scene. You could introduce it at the lab, or in
the evidence room.
Ultimately, you either trust or do not trust the chain of evidence,
depending on whether you believe the people who are carrying out the
processing of evidence are trustworthy.
