In the local Atlanta Journal Constitution (aka Atlanta Journal
Constipation)
was an article about a Florida story concerning an activity which I have
also heard going on in Alabama and other states. The substitution of
Asian
Catfish and other fish of lesser cost for Grouper. Sometimes it happens
even in the Grocery Stores. The AJC mentioned that the state of Florida
was
cracking down on the practice and had a web page devoted to it that
contained some high resolution photos that would help identify fakes and
the
substitution. The AJC though left out the web address for that page.
I called Florida's department of Food Safety and a gent emailed me the URL
link which, unlike the AJC, I will put below if you care to visit the page
and read about it, that is if you are a seafood lover like myself and
would
like to know more about this.
