I don't know for sure but while I agree Curtis Mathis was overpriced and
did
price themselves out of the market in their beginnings they started out
very
reasonable if not the lowest price sets and were sold in Kmart type
stores.
I think the bankruptcy happened right after Curtis Mathis (the founder)
died
and the folks that inherited the company ran it in the gutter.
