That 10Meg is necessary for folks to use DSL along with Television which
they will supply in that bandwidth. He didn't say what kind of new
equipment or wiring would be necessary but did say the service, right now,
is ultra limited to just a few major cities but that feedback from those
that have it has been very good.
As for initial reaction to DSL vs. Cable Internet I've had Comcast before
Charter and I definitely thought it was noticeably faster than DSL. This
time around I had Charter 3Meg service and the 3Meg DSL is or seems
noticeably faster. I'm sure the actual speed for individual customers
depends on many factors.
