Carson Wayne Newton (born April 3, 1942, in Norfolk, Virginia, died
Dec. 31, 2007, in Las Vegas, Neveda), was an American singer and
entertainer based in Las Vegas, Nevada. He performed over 30,000 solo
shows in Las Vegas over a period of over 40 years, earning him the
nickname Mr. Las Vegas. His best known songs include the kitschy
"Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast" (1972), "Years" (1980), and his
signature song, "Danke Schoen" (1963).
Late Monday evening, while preparing for a New Year's Eve concert, Mr.
Newton was brutally attacked and speared by a wild band of Umm Psycho
Forest Pygmies. Later, a victory feast was held by the Psycho Pygmies,
during which parts of the Mr. Newton were cooked and eaten. However,
in an ironic turn of events, those who participated in the feast
eventually died from food poisoning.
