Like the slogan says, if you want it done right, hire an expert! Lots of
do-it-yourself optimists show that they simply aren't good at it, some
of them are OK for small optimism jobs but their no good for the long
haul or the big project.

I should mention that I can schedule a few more contracts along these
lines. I'm not the cheapest but you have to expect to pay for quality.

Hardly anyone objects to public voting. Some crabby people do gripe
about public griping, singing, arguing, tooth-cleaning and even the most
tasteful public ***.

I have been persecuted occasionally for public optimism. I'd be happily
walking down the street, whistling and thinking optimistic thoughts, and
some middle-age woman with old bruises on her face would come up to me
and say "Hey, Mr. Happyface, my husband beats me and I can't leave him
because he doesn't let me have any money and he'll kill me if I do and
what do you say about *that*!" I couldn't think of anything to do but
give her money for the phone and the address of the women's shelter.
Etc. There are people who take deep offense if they see somebody smiling
on the street.

But it will all work out. That sort of thing will get increasingly rare
as people start working together to handle the crisis.
