I am not sure how something is promising one way or the other. If 9
or 12 were Pakistanis or Philipinos, would that be promising or bad?
I don't get the suggesting that moving lots of jobs towards any
particular gender, race, or any other group is good or bad. If the
folks in the jobs are doing it well, great. If not, train them or do
something else that improves it.
But, I would think more women in the jobs would add sensitivity
towards crimes against women. I'd think a few Asian investigators
here in DC may bring any sensitivity to the slaughter of Asian small
business owners as well. But, the larger issue seems we have so many
balkanized segments of the population that we don't need a
representative in all jobs to work for them. We need people in such
public jobs to represent everyone.
