Perhaps racism is inherent and instinctive in humans and can no more
be eliminated, except in special cases, than can the fear of falling,
fear of the dark, or fear of s****s. So, rather than fighting a
hopeless fight to eliminate racism, perhaps we should just face
reality and arrange societies such that we can live with racism.

I agree with you. I think racism comes from deep inside, like an instinct
imprinted in the genes of many people. But to feel racism inside doesn't
mean one should do 'racist' things. An educated person will treat people
according to merits, no matter the colour of the skin. One can educate the
mind, but I don't think one can change the heart so easily.
