I am presenting this working title as a project in progress.
PFAB = [ "Please Find Appended Below" ] a fresh exchange of email with
two leading Jewish authorities worldwide, men of the best sort I might
add, and also with an official of the Students for Justice in
Palestine at the University of California at Berkeley:

#1.) First, yesterday April 9th, I sent out a circular letter replying
briefly by invitation to my old friend Dan Stone's short essay
entitled "Jews and the American Empire":
Hello Dan,
Good to be in touch with you again.
Did you direct the following remark to some individual in particular?
Moi, even ?
"I would appreciate your response to the above, preferably in a civil
tone."
How about we consider setting up some public FTF discussion at a
library or or Station 40 or whatever convenient venue on the topic
"the Jewish role in the U.S. imperial ruling class" ?
IMHO digesting the works of MC Piper, James Petras, Kevin MacDonald,
Israel Shahak, Israel Shamir and Victor Ostrovsky is essential to
getting up to speed on this issue and the general history of the last
two centuries remains to be rewritten, particularly WRT the roles of
Judah P. Benjamin, Bernard Baruch and Henry Kissinger as the royal
line of American Jewry.
The 10 million dead figure for the last two decades comes in part from
the excellent Dr.Gideon Polya of Australia, who is cited in my links
and gives an estimate of 6.2 million for Afghanistan, and in part from
an answer given to me in Berkeley at the end of March 2006 by our good
friend Hans von Sponeck, estimating as of that date
2 million for Iraq. Which leaves, thirdly, the period in Iraq from
then to now to be added in. Would you like to collaborate with me on
perfecting this estimate & its do***entation?
Seriously speaking, I propose that the scientific answer to the
question "How many victims has the USGov murdered in the last two
decades?" = "More than enough to hang the Clintons, Bushes,
Sulzbergerz, Bronfmen, Schumer, Shorenstein, Feinstein & their whole
Gangstein." Although, of course, I strongly recommend following
Chairman Mao's policy of preserving the lives of prisoners. Evenso,
the ghoulish calculation of the BODY COUNT --the title of Polya's
book-- can serve an im****tant purpose in the education of our people.
The word "science", as I recall offhand, comes from the Latin
infinitive "_scipire_", meaning "to know".
WRT your question on the relation of Jewish billionaires to normal
alias "gentile" ones: Will you pray give thought to how
the fateful examples of Lord Moyne, Count Folke Bernadotte, JFK, RFK,
Olaf Palme, Princess Diana and the Paul Wellstones have affected the
personal calculations of the likes of Bill Gates & Madonna, for
example? Even the very best of the rich whites, such as Mel Gibson,
are cowed. The blacks, it goes without saying, are murdered.
It has been apparent to me for about 20 years that normal white men
have been and are essentially ready to bust the Bushes whereas the
Jews down to street level so far in their feck remain militantly loyal
to their imperial cult. Of course, for many years I have also taken
the lead on the Net in pointing out the few honorable exceptions to
this rule.
Whereas OTOH Chomsky, Finkelstein, Jeff Blankfort, Barbara Lubin, Alan
Solomonow, Amy Goodman et al on the American "left" constitute (as
Blankfort himself says in a slightly different perspective) "Israel's
first line of defense".

Jews and the American Empire

In the spirit of the above quotation from Walter Lippmann, I offer
the following. You know i am critical of israel and will continue to
be, as long as the israelis allow the ultra right-wing entities such
as the Likud party, represented by such monsters as Ariel Sharon,
speak and act for them, and prevent a viable Palestinian state, or
whatever the Palestinians need to live as normal human beings. I have
such contempt for the israelis' contempt for the Palestinians that I
usually don't even capitalize "israel." But neither do i capitalize
"u.s.," the greater offender. I think israel should be rebuked for all
its many atrocities, including their daily expansion over the past 30
years or so into Palestinian land via illegal settlements, and now via
The Wall. As John Pilger has said, israel is "the undisputed world
champion violator of international law."
I also think that many American Jews sup****t u.s. militarism
because they think that it is a protector of israel, so, in that
respect, they are sup****tive of the american empire, and that is
wrong. For example, Country Joe MacDonald, of Jewish descent, has
"decided to sit this one out," and not bother to act nor speak out
against our illegal and immoral invasions and occupations of
Afghanistan and Iraq. He was quite vocal against the Vietnam War, good
for him, but now that we are kicking around countries that are
perceived as enemies of israel, he will "sit this one out."
The fact that the u.s. is "the main purveyor of violence in the
world today" (Martin Luther King, Jr.) does not excuse israel, nor
mean that we should not criticize israel for the specific offenses it
commits as we would any other nation. I do not feel the need to be
"balanced" and criticize the Arabs and Muslims because that side of
the story, and Arab-ba****ng, is all you get in the u.s. "State Media
and Entertainment Industry."
Do i single out israel? No, I've posted articles and opinions on
atrocities in Burma, Africa, Latin America, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc.
But we are so heavily invested in israel as our foot-in-the-door in
the Middle East, israel gets more American tax money than any other
nation, and more than some nations combined, and "usrael" is such a
stick in the eye of the Muslim world, that we have the right, no, the
obligation, to speak out against her violations of international laws
simply because of the "close" relation****p between the u.s. and
israel.
While most of my criticism is of the american empire and those who
run it, i think it im****tant not to let israel drop out of the
discussion, as many would like -- the best form of propaganda is
silence. Although it is im****tant to keep things in perspective and
remember that the u.s. is the main Brute in the world, we nevertheless
have an obligation to criticize israel for its many crimes and
violations of international laws, and cannot remain silent for fear of
being thought of as "anti-Semitic." I wish to help break that silence
and help generate a civil discussion on these issues, for the sake of
what is best for all of us --- the world, Americans, Arabs and
Muslims, and Jews. What we don't talk about can hurt us all.
I do not consider myself anti-Jewish, and feel the need to make a
statement to distinguish between legitimate criticism of israel and
blaming only the Jews for some things or for everything that is wrong.
I have read what seems to be a somewhat increasing number of emails
that indicate that the authors think that the Jews are behind our
foreign policy, are directing things behind the scenes, and are
generally responsible for our savage stomping of small, relatively
defenseless nations, e.g., Afghanistan and Iraq. I am posting this
because I wish to make it clear that i do not feel the way they do.
However, i sup****t their right to speak out in an objective way, up to
the point that it degenerates into name-calling, personal attacks, or
hate speech.
Some feel that the Jews are running things or some things, e.g.,
the media, and they may be, but not for themselves. (Of course, they
are running things for themselves, as far as they are concerned, but
not in the larger sense, I think.) They are occupying the same
position in each culture --- and, now that they have their own state,
in the global culture --- that they have always occupied, i.e., some
sort of upper-management. They are running things for the elites. I
got this idea from Steven Zunes in his book, Tinderbox: U.S. Middle
East Policy and the Roots of Terrorism (Common Courage Press, 2003).
Over the past few years, I have seen no reason not to believe in his
analysis, but remain open to any ideas, facts, analyses, etc., and
will always want people to speak out on this issue, whether they agree
or not.
I have come to see the enormity of the American imperial system,
how the military, for instance, has its nasty tentacles in every
community in America (and throughout the world), so that the
extraction of any tentacle elicits a scream of pain and protest, even
from those "liberals" whose votes in congress are considered otherwise
humane. I have come to see how the Cor****ate State and its u.s.
military protector and enforcer is a Monster strattling not only our
country but the globe.
On a gut level it just doesn't ring true that all those dynamic,
domineering wasp cor****ate heads and other officers, and civic,
religious, and military leaders throughout the country, are just
sitting around with their thumbs up their noses, waiting for some Jew
to tell them what to do, or who to hate, or who to invade, etc. Too
many Americans are, and ALWAYS HAVE BEEN, so hateful and warlike, it
staggers the imagination. Too many Americans have shown themselves to
be completely oblivious or downright in favor of the death,
destruction and misery we inflict on other people around the world for
me to think that if Jews were not among us things would be any
significantly different. We cannot claim that the devil (or the Jews)
made us do it. These barbarous Americans are veritably straining at
the leash, spitting and frothing at the mouth, lurching to go to war
somewhere, as soon as the suits tell them who the enemy is. Such an
"enemy" need not have attacked us, just the theory that they "might"
do something, or "want" to do something to harm us, even though they
cannot, is sufficient.
Our entire permanent military economy since ww2 demands that we
war on someone periodically, and we do so, as soon as a generation or
two goes by so that the young have no knowledge of the horrors of war,
but only fantasies of the glories of war. We have created a system
that creates wars -- a war machine that dwarfs the Nazis'. Hitler
could only dream of the Reich we have created. It is impossible for me
to believe that "the Jews" are responsible for all this. I could be
wrong, but would need to be shown more evidence.
I would appreciate your response to the above, preferably in a
civil tone.

I do not believe there is such thing as an all-encompassing or
essentially "Jewish role" in any historical, political, or ideological
movement, even if persons who subscribe to the Jewish faith may have
played a role (though I will note that such a role is typically
extremely over-played, absolving all those other people who played
criminal roles by scapegoating rather than confronting one's own
criminality).
As a very brief note, if you accept the claim of one group of people
to represent all people who share particular characteristics with them
(ie, of some [today] right-wing Zionists to represent "the Jewish
people" or "Israel"), you are reproducing their logic of excluding,
ignoring, and relegating the existence of those people who do share
whatever characteristics, but do not believe in or sup****t the other
claims of said group of people.
This strikes me as a very disturbing approach to history and to the
present, and I say this NOT despite the fact that I am a strong
sup****ter of the Palestinian cause against Israeli hegemony and
occupation, but because I am.
I will likely not respond to any responses that wish to argue this
point, not because I can't defend it, because I don't believe I know
any of you.

#3.) My prompt rebuttal to Mr.Salahi, which identifies his official
position =
Promissory note in response to the Bronx cheer from Yaman Salahi:
Protocol first, as per my "courtesy notice", I have made it my
SOP promptly to comply with all requests or demands to delete names
from my various e-mail lists or to reverse their CC/BCC status. When,
however, a respondent chooses either in single reply or especially in
the face of the whole list both to argue political points and to throw
serious insults such as, for example, "racist", then I A) reserve the
right of reply and B) openly send that reply to the opponent so that
the onus for any failure to answer an argument will lie clearly with
the appropriate party. In the case in hand, therefore, should Yaman
Salahi henceforth keep silent, then I will simply note his request &
delete his name from my list.
Should he decide OTOH to pursue the argument, then it will in turn
pursue him.
2.) The name of Yaman Salahi first came into my ken via InBox on "Sat,
Feb 2, 2008 at 3:12 PM subject Re: Welcome to list cal_sjp". YS
acts as the on-line secretary for the "Students for Justice in
Palestine (SJP) at the University of California, Berkeley".
The fact that a prominent official of the organized UCB students
for Palestine proudly proclaims his ignorance of names such as those
of Jack Shaheen, Victor Ostrovsky, James Petras and Francis Boyle
helps a lot to explain IMHO why Certain Parties further to be specifed
later are able brazenly and routinely to murder Palestinian children
by the hundreds and still show their faces on the UCB campus --as in
earlier years we students completely prevented other similar parties
from so doing while they were committing like atrocities against the
Indochinese. In that time, benefitting from the brilliant overseas
leader****p of Ho Chi Minh and his disciples, we crushed Lyndon
Johnson's war-mongering stooges by exposing their crimes and
destroying their arguments, thus driving them from the stage in
disgrace. So our American solidarity movement grew exponentially to
become a major recognized force in helping the Vietnamese decisively
to defeat the mighty hi-tech criminal invader against all of the
defeatist predictions by
soi disant liberal experts such as Bernard Fall. I do concede that our
development was helped immensely by the fact that the Vietnamese were
shooting at those of us who yielded to LBJ's draft. Even so UCB-SJP

3.) Today Wednesday April 9th, on the 60th anniversary of Certain
Parties' massacre of the village of Deir Yassin, Mr.Yaman Salahi,
secretary of UCB-SJP, writes to me: "I do not believe there is such
thing as an all-encompassing or essentially 'Jewish role' in any
historical, political, or ideological movement". I find this bald
denial quite simply astounding. Has the young man ever heard of
Zionism? Of the Jewish State and its Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger? Of the
World Jewish Congress, of the Jewish Institute for National Security
Affairs or of a dozen other similar powerful imperial institutions? It
would be as if Mao Zedong had denied any 'Japanese role' in the
Japanese invasion of China seventy years ago. Or as if Billy Graham
were to deny any 'Catholic role' in the Spanish Inquisition of four
centuries ago or as if Frederick Douglass were to have denied any
'white racist role' in the institution of black slavery in the USA. To
put the matter plainly, Yaman Salahi's posture here constitutes
absolute intellectual, political and spiritual prostration in the face
of the ideology of bloody Jewish tyranny. How long will UCB-SJP
continue to exalt such shameful treason to the memories of
Iman al-Hams, Akaber Zaid, Bushra Bargis and Abir Aramin?
Does Mr.Yaman Salahi recognize any of these last four names among the
