The campaigns get so much media attention that innovations dont get the 
coverage, so you dont know there is a new hydrogen technology. Surf for 
it- it uses an aluminum alloy, which when exposed to water, gives off 
hydrogen. IIRC, one pound of alloy and 20gallons of water gets you 600 
miles.

That's better than gasoline. Appropriately enuf, from the U of Mich. I 
dunno, but if the Big Three funded that research, then they'll get the 
patents, and blow the jap cars off the road.

Course, there's still the problem of where to get the electricity to 
create the alloy in the first place (which can be recharged by plugging 
it into an AC outlet in your garage). The best bet I know of would be 
wind power.

There's a new wind turbine blade manufacturing plant going up in Little 
Rock. They can load the 61.5 meter long blades on barges to go up the 
Arkansas river to the high plains. Each turbine produces 5000kw. It'd 
take several thousand turbines to make a dent in foreign oil im****ts, 
but could be done.
