It is illegal to bring into the USA any form of child ****ography.
I would have to somewhat agree that Customs agents be allowed to
inspect laptops, and any media for the purposes of child ****ography
being im****ted. 
It would be no different than opening up books and magazines and
thumbing through the pages for the same thing.

I would however, draw the line at viewing the contents of text files.
AS those may contain privileged information even to law enforcement
officers.

If the guy is that stupid, to think that he could just bring the ****
in disguised in his laptop, he should be busted. Me, I'd get me a
domain name, set up an extra large email account, and send the **** to
my email account. Or at least file it under a password protected
folder. I don't think Customs has ever tried to search the contents of
email boxes have they?
