What McCain is, is the man who should have been nominated by the GOP
eight years ago. They threw him under the bus in 2000 but *now* all
of a sudden, he's The Guy. He does a photo op with the President but
can't wait two weeks before he starts bad mouthing the last seven
years of White House policy. He can't get far enough away from Bush
fast enough.
As for the Congressional photo op with Bush, it's nothing more than a
Class of 2008 photo for Bush's Presidential Year books. When fall
comes, he might have a bit of trouble finding anybody (R) who wants
his help in their campaign.
If McCain wins it'll be because enough racists joined the GOP base in
rejecting a black man or Clinton haters joined them to reject Hillary.
