This post is absolute horseshit from top to bottom!
It is just the age-old, illegal "chain letter" scam that has been around
for a hundred years. The only difference is that these slimeballs use
modern technology, instead of the Post Office, to carry out their
frauds.
It is a scam because 99.9% of the suckers who enter it will never see
even $1 of their $6.00 back.
It is a scam because the originators of the scheme make sure that THEY
are ALWAYS the recipients of your six dollars.
It is a scam because all 6 of the names you see are simply aliases for
the same person, or small group of persons -- all of whom are simply
crooks.
It is an ILLEGAL scheme in Canada, the United States and many other
countries.
Where in the past it was known as "Mail Fraud" -- using the country's
postal system to send out phony solicitations -- it is now called "Wire
Fraud" -- using the country's electronic networks to send out the same
criminal solicitations.
Those convicted of this offence are subject to substantial fines and
long prison sentences.
And it most certainly is SPAM, because
a) it is being sent to hundreds of Newsgroups simultaneously
b) almost all of those Newsgroups prohibit commercial advertisements
