Screwed by Federal government (Veteran Affairs)

by "Troy Lonsdale" <rtsgriz@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 10, 2006 at 05:49 AM

Hi all,
I am writting this to give a heads up to anyone that is stupid enough to
think about joining the Canadian Military. I was in the Canadian Navy for
almost 20 years, when I was medically released due to problems that the
navy caused. I have been fighting with veteran affairs since 1998 for just
my knees, and 2000 for all my other medical problems. While I was in they
made it look like they cared for their people until they release you then
they try to blame their mistakes on other things. An example is: I sailed
up
to if not more than 300 days a year, they are trying to say that the
problems arose from a different full time job. It is very difficult to
raise
a family when only my wife is able to work, and I use to be the one that
had
to worry about the family.
Now all I try not to think about is how much I am being screwed by the
federal government, mainly Veteran Affairs; and trying to keep my head on
straight so I don't walk into the nearest recruiting centre and blowing
everyone into hell for the mental and physical abuse that I had to endure
while being enlisted in this god for saken military.
There are a lot of senior people in the military, because of their rank
they
can stay in for as long as they want, even though they are unable to do
their job. A friend of mine that just got out a little while ago, had 5
heart attacks could only do desk jobs and he retired after 35 years most
of
which were behind a desk. But someone like me how had less than 2 years
for
a full pension gets released because my rank wasn't high enough to suck
off
the people in Ottawa.
There are also officers that can get away with anything and I do mean
anything that are still employed in the Navy as well as in Ottawa.
So unless you like to be screwed by the government, then join the
military.
It is not all bad I did get to see the world and a lot of things that will
keep giving me nightmares for a long long time. (Like dead bodies)
If anyone wants to know more information please feel free to write me.

Thank you for reading this.
Troy
