The article in today's ADN says Mackey's "foundation stud dog," Zorro, is
expected to recover from the snowgo wreck in the Sweepstakes Race.
(I put that in quotation marks because I've never heard of a dog
referred to that way before. The term is used for horses though.)
Mackey says he's going to try to address the conflicts between mushers
and snowgo drivers -- that near-misses are pretty common these days.
The guy who ran into Lance's sled is going to pay all vet bills for
Zorro. I'm glad to see the guy be standup, after such an unfortunate
wreck.
I know the mushers in my neighborhood stay way away from the commonly
used snowgo trails, to avoid the yahoos who run flat-out all the time, no
matter how much alcohol they have onboard.
A friend of ours wanted to buy a Super Cub. His wife wouldn't let him,
so he bought a snowgo that will go faster than a Super Cub. Ha.
