A black light will show quickly where mice & shrews navigate,
since they piddle constantly, and urine trails show up nicely
under UV light.
When I was doing property management we used them to check for
pet urine so that we could tell the carpet cleaning company to
treat for pet urine, and I was surprised at how often I found
mouse urine trails, even when the tenant had a cat in the house.
