I do not intend to return to Prudhoe Bay again, ever. So this old
construction worker will not see any vehicles there. Living and
working at Prudhoe Bay was a hole in my life. It was like going to
prison as I would imagine it. Camp life regulated with security
guards and a complete control over your afterhours life is not what I
call living, it is existing for the money. We ate, slept and worked
and that was about all. In 1975-1976 I was in the Arctic for 11
months with only 3 days below the Arctic Circle. I left with $42k in
the bank and no debts, but regret it to this day.
