I have three small battery powered lights. one is a combo l/s wave
light, and the other two are just long/short. They are used at night
to find minerals which react to UV light.

I know in the wild, the shrews will infest just about anyplace that
has food available. I left a wax paper tub of crackers out one night.
nothing was left by "morning".
