Flour supplies growing low in Fairbanks

by jerry <GeraldCNewton@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 29, 2008 at 02:36 PM

Sams's is limiting purchases of flour to four 50 lb bags of flour. I
noticed that the stock pile of Flour is half of what it was three days
ago. It is predicted that bread will go to $7 a loaf by September.
The general public refuses to believe that there is a global food
shortage and cannot believe that the good old USA has a shortage of
food. We have been too fat and too dumb for too long in the USA.
With 6 million new mouths to feed each month on this planet it was
bound to happen. Our global population growth has finally exceeded
the growth of food production. Some of you think this is a hoax or a
laughable probability; only time will tell. This situation was
predicted 40 years ago by the College of Rome scientists in their
Limits to Growth report done at MIT with a Volkswagen grant. The
Malthusian advocates said war, disease, famine, and pestilence would
curtail the population. The technocrats said that technology would
keep up with the food supply. It appears that the Malthusian
principle is going to win with mass starvation. The population has
continued to grow at an exponential rate. Remember 2.5 million people
in 5,000 years, but that has more than doubled in the last 40 years.
(Happy days are here again. Be happy, don't worry.)
