Precincts 
within House Districts combine to hold House District-wide Caucuses. State

Convention Delegates are allocated to presidential contenders in
pro****tion 
to the percentage of the sup****t each candidate receives at the Caucus- a 
mandatory 15 percent threshold being required for such allocation.

 Saturday 24 May 2008: The Alaska State Democratic Convention convenes.
The 
State Convention chooses Alaska's 13 Pledged delegates to the Democratic 
National Convention. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order

for a presidential contender to be allocated National Convention delegates

at either the congressional district or statewide level.

      The Alaska State Convention chooses 8 district delegates, such
choice 
reflecting the sup****t for the presidential contenders among the delegates

to the State Convention from each Legislative District.

      In addition, 5 delegates are to be allocated to presidential 
contenders based the sup****t for the presidential contenders in the State 
Convention as a whole.

        a.. 3 at-large National Convention delegates
        b.. 2 Pledged PLEOs
      The remaining 5 National Convention delegates consist of

        a.. 4 Unpledged PLEO delegates:
          a.. 4 Democratic National Committee members.
          b.. 0 Members of Congress (0 Senators and 0 Representatives).
          c.. 0 Governors.
          d.. 0 Distinguished Party Leaders.
        b.. 1 Unpledged "add-on" (selected at the state convention).
      These 5 delegates and will go to the Democratic National Convention 
officially "Unpledged".
