I was looking at Parky's in Jonas Brother's in Los Anchorage 'bout
'65. (yeah, there was a Jonas Brothers in Anchorage...famous for
their HUGE icecycle that formed on a poorly insulated hip on
their store)...anyway, John Wayne wandered in, and did some similar
shopping...I said "hi" or something and just kept going.

Talked to someone later who said Wayne loved Alaska then 'cause
no one paid any attention to him...one actor once said...we're just
people who get paid big money for memorizing lines...so what?

Couldn't agree more. I always figured Wayne, and a lot of others
would stink in a classroom as a teacher...and I still remember
how much trouble I had with Antony's Speech and the Gettysberg...
both required memorizations when I was a kid...

Wouldn't mind getting a bit more for teaching, tho...
