He was onlty there for 5 years when he invented the phone,
not 'most of his life' as you claimed. Live with it, luser.

That was quite some vacation as he spent most of his time there
working on, amongst other things, flying machines and hydrofoils.
He built Canada's first flying machine there as well as one of his
hydrofoil boats from there setting a world speed record that stood
for 10 years.

Oh, and his parents stayed in Brantford, Ontario. Not entirely
convenient for Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. If anything 
Badek was his home. He only visited the US to escape the 3 coldest
months of winter in Canada where he spent the rest of the year on
Cape Breton in his lab.
