Who cares? He had not been there 'for most of his life' when he invented

Nope. It's an easily verifiable fact. He spent 10 months of every year on
his Canadian estate on Cape Breton island from 1885 right up to 1922.

I've already told you where they stayed. Why not look at a map and
find out where Cape Breton and where Ontario is, rather than parade

I'm claiming that i) He had not spent most of his life in the US at
the point he had invented the telephone, as claimed by you.. and
ii) He spent most of his life subsequent to the invention of the 
telephone, in Canada. Which bit don't you understand?
