Wednesday, 24 November, 1999, 16:10 GMT, BBC News
A senior member of the outlawed guerrilla movement, the PKK,
has applied for asylum in Holland.
A Justice Ministry spokeswoman said it was not clear when
the former commander, Murat Karayilan, had entered the country.
Mr Karayilan is wanted in Turkey for allegedly taking part in armed
insurgency.
The spokeswoman said Mr Karayilan would be screened to find out
whether he had taken part in violent actions.
