Re: No New information for Prof. Dr. Taner Akcam re Armenians in WWI

Bilge Khan, the lobotomized, fascist Turk, also formerly known on the
Usenet
as notoriously lying and falsifying "Baba Bey the Turk", a criminal mass
canceller and rabid Jew, Greek, Kurd and Armenian hater, writes:

This is what he said: "The argument says there were Armenian uprisings. It
is simply a lie. The de****tations were taking place before any Armenian
uprising. There was only one incident in April 1915 and the de****tation
decree occurred at the end of March. They were individual Armenian
deserters and even Armenians were against them. Not only were Armenians
de****ted from eastern Anatolia, they were de****ted from the entire
Anatolia, despite being totally integrated into the Turkish life."

Your sources do NOT provide any proofs of any "uprisings" by the Armenian
population. If some Armenians decide to join the Russian military that is
not an uprising, you sick dip****!

The Armenians had every right to try and defend themselves against their
annihilation and from the constant massacres committed by the Ottomans.
Here a few of those massacres, called the Hamidian massacres (19th
century)
and the Adana massacre from 1909. I'm sure professor Akcam also knows
about
these details:

Hamidian Massacres

Throughout 1895-96 Armenians in the Ottoman Empire suffered in a wave of
violence commonly known as the Hamidian massacres. While Van largely
avoided
massacres in 1895, the Ottomans send a military expedition in June of
1896.
Armenians were initially able to defend themselves in Van, but upon
agreeing
to disarm in exchange for safety, massacres continued, culminating in the
death of over 20,000 Armenians.

Despite this, Armenians continued to make up a relative majority of the
population in what is today known as Eastern Anatolia or Western Armenia).
According to Viscount Bryce, their numbers were between 1.8 and 2.1
million.[2] In the Van province, they constituted an absolute majority
over
the combined Turkish and Kurdish population

The Adana Massacre, 1909

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_Genocide#The_status_of_the_Ottoman_Armenians

Armenian hopes for equality were quickly dashed in 1909 when armed
military
units rose up against the CUP. The counterrevolution began on April 13,
1909 and was largely sup****ted by Muslim theological students known as
softas who wished to revert the country back to its Islamic governance.
Riots and fighting soon broke out between the units and the CUP until the
government was able to put down the uprisings and a court martial was
established to try its leaders.

In late March, rumors had spread to the Armenian populated region of Adana
on the Mediterranean Sea that a counterrevolution had succeeded in pu****ng
the CUP out.[23] Seizing upon this notion, many Muslims who had opposed
the
overthrow of the Sultan in 1908 struck out against Adana's Armenian
population, who had sup****ted the revolution. Turks in Adana resented the
Armenians since they were poor and the Armenians "were the richest and
most
prosperous class in the region. In Adana, Armenians had attained a high
standard of living. In every field, they were ahead of the Turks."[24]
They
further resented the fact that Armenians were being given broader rights
and took advantage of the revolution by massacring Armenians in the towns
and cities of the provinces. Mobs armed with sticks, clubs and pistols
roved around Adana killing Armenians and many Turkish soldiers took their
side or did not help quell to the violence.[25]

In the end, between 15,000 to 20,000 Armenians had been killed in the
course
of what was called the "Adana Holocaust."[26] Many Armenians who had
sup****ted the Young Turk Revolution were thus disillusioned by the level
violence that had been exacted against them and felt betrayed by the
regime.

Read up on the Van Resistance here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_Resistance

The Resistance at Van (Armenian: Վանի Հերոսամարտ) was an
insurgency against
the Ottoman Empire's attempts to liquidate its Armenian population in the
vilâyet of Van. It was one of the few instances during the Armenian
Genocide
where Armenians, in an act of self-defense, fought against the Ottoman
Empire's armed forces.

The fighting lasted from April 19, 1915 to May 6 of that year, when
Russian
forces relieved the beleaguered Armenian defenders.
