On May 27, 2005, Xinhua News Agency re****ted that Chinese Olympic
110-meter hurdles champion Liu Xiang has lost his rights infringement
case in a Beijing court.
The Haidian District People's Court freed the newspaper Life Style from
Liu's charge over the use of his photos on the cover and other pages
last October. Liu claimed the newspaper violated his right of ****trait
and sought US$150,000 compensation. The court ruled that Liu's picture
on the cover was used for news re****ting instead of advertisement.
