Hi Barky
Mandarin is a nick name of (official) Chinese and it is spoken in all the
mainland of China. Cantonese is a dialect mainly used in Canton(or called
Guangdong Provice now) and Hong Kong. Areas like Taiwan and Singa****e
speak
Mandarin.
BTW Hong Kong begins to use Mandarin now.
Cheers and good luck.
Sam
