Google and China

by egnever <user@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 16, 2006 at 11:02 AM

The reason we have gotten so far with Google is that the information it has

supplied has been fairly impartial and accurate. If the information had
been
biased or incomplete, and whole sites excluded because our government
didn't
approve, we would quickly have found another search engine.

I myself feel Google has shot itself in the foot with this issue. I can
think
of several times when information was censored in the UK eg the Spycatcher

affair, where the only source of accurate information was a web search to
another country. Now China is not even able to do this.

The US government should ban all search engines from collaborating with
China.
