BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo News prints a Friday insert for entertainment
around Buffalo NY called "GUSTO".
As a father of 7 and grandfather of 8 - imagine my shock when seeing a XXX
Entertainment Video store AD in the
"FAMILY" section of the Buffalo News Gusto (4-20-07) (page 38). I'm not
just talking on the same page - this was mixed in
the same column with the family event listings. Squeezed in between
Wilson Historical Museum and Xtreme Wheels Indoor
Skate Park listings. The Family listings took up less than 2 of the 40
pages of the insert - surely the ad did NOT have to be
placed in a column with Family Listings!!!
A TV commercial for a XXX place such as this during a children's show on a
TV station would be an offense - It should also
be for print media!!! Totally unacceptable!
I sent a letter off to the editor that very evening and 5 days later heard
back from the newspaper via a rep - again TOTALLY
UNACCEPTABLE! I must have rattled them, however -- because there was no
adult advertising in the entire Buffalo News
the following Friday. But that still does NOT address that this occurred
in the first place and that they ignored me for 5
days!!!
