There are quite a number of subcategories. Off hand I can think of
Romlang (a constructed Romance language), Germaniconlang (the same but
Germanic), etc.

Lojbob mentioned Lojban as a "logical" language, which have been
called loglangs.

Almost any word can be snipped and glued onto "lang" in order to
create a shorthand word of this sort. Conlang, auxlang and artlang are
probably the most commonly met with.

Because they mean different things. People that use them
interchangeably do so out of ignorance. Maybe they don't know that
when they use "artlang" to refer to Esperanto or similar that they're
using an incorrect category.

There is none. There is no international body of conlangers'
organisations that oversees such usage. And even if there were, they'd
probably be ignored anyway, if anyone even knew about them.
