I have always tried to mark the equinoxes with some sort of special
activity (personal tradition). So I published the first public draft of
Vorlin on the Equinox back in 1991. Whether it was March 20th or 21st
is a little unclear. (I probably photocopied on the 20th and mailed on
the 21st.)
Later on, I invented a concalendar that always starts its year on MArch
21. It's a little easier to deal with than starting each year on the
exact date of the Equinox.
I believe the Baha'i religion also starts its year on March 21.
