Question About Officer/Fed Identification

by "Arch Stanton" <ggabroc@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 16, 2005 at 11:19 PM

If someone stops me dressed as a police officer, what can I do to
verify that he is a police officer? A name and badge number seems
useless if it is an impersonator. Can I lock my door and tell the guy
to wait while I verify his badge number with the appropriate
department?

I realize that the penal codes state various requirements, but I have
yet to find anything stating MY rights as a citizen when it comes to
ANYONE who might be impersonating ANY officer of the government, or
other federal employee that may require my cooperation. If anyone can
point me in the right direction that would be helpful.

Thanks for any help.
