It is hard to imagine that horrible things are not going on in Tibet
right now. From some of the little information that has made it out of
the country and from the brutal statements by the Chinese Communist
government about people in Tibet who show any resistance.
Demographic replacement is taking place in Tibet. The Dalai Lama has
made it out of Tibet and has a government in exile.
Recently there have been a number of references on the internet to an
article by Charley Reese, a writer whom I generally admire. He says
quit trying to interfere with China's right to do what it wants in
Tibet. http://www.lewrockwell.com/reese/reese441.html
Though I disagree with the reasoning in the article, I agree with one
of the conclusions. We should not try to stop the Beijing Olympic
Games.
The athletes have worked too hard, and further, they can deal with
tension at games. That is part of their virtually superhuman training.
The Olympic athletes in 1936 knew that they were possibly part of a
vast historic world event. The 2008 athletes may or may not have the
same thought in their heads. But they still can compete, just as the
Olympic athletes did back in 1936.
As a closing point, I think Liberalism has been a disaster in
preventing the horrific problems that may be coming down on us.

Conservatism is being neocon-ed to death. But liberalism was neolib-ed
to death long ago.
