Global warming, extreme weather conditions like hurricane Katrina and =
high energy prices affect us all. Coal is one of the most important =
energies. Coal mining and usage impacts on the environment influence its =
future use and our daily life. Different technical and normative =
approaches offer a wide base for interesting comparisons and =
discussions, e.g. the mechanisms of the Kyoto-protocol vs. those of the =
Technology Initiative, which is driven by China, the US and several =
other countries around the pacific.
Therefore the conference
"Resources and Environment 2006"
focuses on Coal and China.
The worldwide leading nation with regards to Coal being mined and used =
is China. Its booming economy is nowadays partly constrained by the =
supply of energy and raw materials. At the same time China is one of the =
major CO2-emitting countries of the world.
The conference will be accompanied by a poster exhibition and an =
exhibition of mining and mining related companies. Like in previous =
years there will be discussions in between participants, industry, =
politics and research organisations, too.
