I guess it's this this guy's tough luck that he doesn't have the whole
of the art community behind him like Bill Henson does.

THE PUEBLO CHIEFTAIN
CANON CITY - Eight charges have been filed in Fremont County District
Court against a Florence photographer alleging he has ***ually
exploited at least one underage girl by taking ****, ***ually explicit
photos of her.
Edward Alan Miller, 52, of Penrose, owner of Alanworks Photography
Studio, 115 S. Pikes Peak Ave. in Florence, was arrested Monday and
charged with five counts of felony ***ual exploitation of a child by
inducing/enticing, a felony charge of ***ual contact by coercing a
child, a misdemeanor charge of ***ual contact without consent and a
felony charge of ***ual exploitation of a child by possessing 20-plus
forms of ***ually explicit materials.
The charges refer to a single victim who was 17 or younger at the time
of the alleged offenses.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit authored by Canon City Police
Officer Brenda LaGree, Miller has been under investigation since April
29 when a 50-year-old woman re****ted possible child ****ography
involving her daughter, who had just turned 18 earlier that month.
The mother re****ted she had viewed a computer compact disk containing
photos which was found in a box next to the computer at Miller's
studio. She said her daughter was ****d in all the photographs and
that she had never given Miller permission to take **** photographs in
any instance with her daughter. LaGree re****ted that she reviewed the
compact disk which held 134 photos of the victim, who was 17 at the
time of the photo shoot.
"The majority of the photos are very ***ually explicit," she wrote in
the affidavit.
Police obtained a search warrant for Miller's studio on April 30. They
seized more than 400 compact disks and examined the contents.
On one disk were pictures of the then-17-year-old victim in bed with
two other girls performing ***ual acts at a local motel. Another disk
had pictures of the victim and another woman in fully ****, ***ually
explicit poses.
During a May 1 voluntary interview at Canon City Police Department,
Miller told LaGree and District Attorney Investigator Jim Howell, that
he had never taken a **** photo of anyone under the age of 18. Miller
told investigators that he always looks at the model's driver's
license or ID to verify age.
When told the victim was 17 at the time of the **** photo shoots,
Miller said he had looked at the victim's driver's license but did not
take a copy of it. He said the victim might have had a false
identification.
He told investigators that if the victim were truly 17 at the time, he
would do anything under his power to get her "hook, line and sinker,"
according to the affidavit.
The affidavit indicates police interviewed the 17-year-old victim, a
16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl, but the younger girls are not
named in the current charges.
Miller is being held at the Fremont County jail on $100,000 cash only
bail.
He will be advised of the charges during a court appearance at 1:15
p.m. today.
On Miller's Web page, alanworks.net, he claims to be organizing a $50
million lawsuit against Canon City for unlawful behavior and bigotry
against a Jewish photographer. However, no such suit has been filed in
Fremont County District Court or U.S. District Court.
