**** child magazine under classification review

It is interesting how the Australian News Covered up the photo whereas
one can still get it on the Art Monthly web site.

Just for the record while I don't think this is **** it does concern
me how pedos could use such photos.

The Australian Classification Board will review an art magazine that
featured **** photographs of a six-year-old girl on its cover.

Art Monthly's controversial cover comes in the wake of intense public
debate over artist Bill Henson's photographs of a ****d teenage girl
which were confiscated from a Sydney gallery.

The girl featured in the magazine, Olympia Nelson, is now 11 and says
she is proud of the photos.

The New South Wales Government referred Art Monthly to the federal
board earlier this week.

The editor of Art Monthly, Maurice O'Rierdon, says the board has the
power to restrict publication or ban the issue.

"As it stands now, part of the process ... means the publication isn't
allowed to be sold, so until a classification is given any retailer or
even ourselves can't sell the magazine," he said.

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has criticised the use of the photos and
Opposition Leader Brendan Nelson has threatened to take up the matter
with the Australian Federal Police.

Art Monthly is partly funded by the Federal and ACT Governments.

The Federal Government will ask its peak arts funding body to develop
a set of protocols to be used when dealing with images of children.
