fasgnadh is someone at the Liebral Party doing your work :)

From today's Age : Liberals' blogs of war, Paul Austin - May 12, 2008

Baillieu hits out at 'traitors'

THE homepage was arresting: "Ted Baillieu must GO," it screamed,
complete with a picture of the Opposition Leader wearing a red nose.

The name of the blogsite was direct: "He who stands for nothing."

What was not clear to readers was that people behind the vitriol were
not Labor Party stirrers but paid employees of Mr Baillieu's party,
who distributed their poison through the computers on their desks at
Liberal HQ in Exhibition Street.

The now infamous blog was no impulsive flight of fancy: it was first
put up late last year and not pulled down until last month, when party
director Julian Sheezel discovered who was responsible and sacked two
of his most trusted staff.

The site did not limit its anonymous spite to Mr Baillieu, whom it
nicknamed Cottee's — "because he's thick and rich" — and who was
described as a "vile communist" and a "vacuous moron". Just about
anyone seen to be associated with the moderate grouping in the party
was fair game, as well as anyone suspected of being sup****tive of Mr
Baillieu.

So former prime minister Malcolm Fraser was condemned as "that epitome
of treachery"; outspoken federal backbencher Petro Georgiou was
dismissed as a "waste of space"; and Victorian senator Judith Troeth
was labelled "stupid" and described as "not one of life's workhorses,
despite having a face like one".

Baillieu backers in the state parliamentary party were in the gun.

So Mr Baillieu's deputy, Louise Asher, was a "dead weight". Former
opposition leader Denis Napthine was a "timid church mouse" and "a
dud". Regarding Mr Baillieu's shadow treasurer, the blog said: "If
anyone sees Kim Wells on the street, please ask him to do his job."

Upper house leader David Davis had "many of the attributes of a dog,
except loyalty".

But the anonymous website was not the only place where staff members
Simon Morgan and John Osborn let their contempt of fellow Liberals
show.

The Age has learnt that the investigation of their activities at party
headquarters has revealed numerous emails in which Mr Morgan and Mr
Osborn disparage MPs and candidates in last year's federal election.
For example, on July 12, Mr Morgan says, in an email copied to Mr
Osborn, that a then Howard government minister, Fran Bailey, is "a
stupid fat *****". "And I actually have to work to save her career,"
he writes. "Madness."

On July 25, Mr Morgan describes state frontbencher Mary Wooldridge as
a "*****".

On January 31 this year, Mr Osborn writes an email to Mr Morgan about
a fund-raising proposal by a state upper house member, Inga Peulich:
"Perhaps it's a bad moon rising … I think Inga is playing the part of
the moon."

On August 14 last year Mr Morgan, in an email to Mr Osborn, described
the federal candidate for Corio, Angelo Kakouros, as a "turd", and on
September 11 labelled him a "C*NT".

On June 19 Mr Morgan told Mr Osborn that their federal candidate for
Melbourne ****ts, Adam Held, was "a low, low dog" and "a sniveling
dyspeptic who is painfully unaware of his limited cerebral capacity".
Mr Osborn replied: "Yeeeeeeeesssssssssss …"

But on the anonymous blog, "Red Ted" Baillieu was Public Enemy No. 1.

The blog's mission statement put the case this way: "Ted Baillieu
stands for nothing and he must go. The Liberal Party can win back
Victoria, but Ted Baillieu is beyond reform. He professes to be a
small-l liberal but wouldn't know the meaning of the word."

Late last year the blog declared: "Ted is dead. Who will cut him
down?"

When news re****ts suggested trans****t spokesman Terry Mulder as a
potential replacement for Mr Baillieu, the blog celebrated. "Mulder
won't have to challenge," it said. "Red Ted will be tapped. Surely the
base self-interest (of Baillieu's team) will prevail in the end and
demand they recognise the plain facts — Ted Baillieu will never go
close to winning office, and it's in their interests to have a leader
who isn't actually opposed to hard work (hope the weather's nice down
in ****tsea, Ted)."

Days later a new posting stated: "The picture of Ted Baillieu is
becoming increasingly like that of Emperor Nero fiddling while Rome
was burning …"

By late January the blog was suggesting Mr Baillieu should "beware the
Ides of March". Soon after, Simon Morgan, the federal campaign manager
in the Victorian headquarters, and John Osborn, in charge of research,
special projects and, ironically, the party's website, were "sprung",
and the "Ted Baillieu must GO" blog was taken down.

....Oh, how sweet this is!!
