A few comments about Gore's speech:
He goes down the list and ticks off an amazingly accurate tally of all the
laws wich were broken by the FBI in their campaign to destroy Dr. King.
But,
it is most im****ant to remind ourselves that, back during the days when J.
Edgar committed his worst evil acts aginst Dr. King, Gore's party, the
democrats, were running things.
Gore makes this comment in his speech:
"Fears drives out reason"
Which I agree with. But, my concern is that earlier in his speech he makes
a
point of agreeing with W. on one point, that the terrorist threat is real.
And that is the single most effective enabler for W. and his boys to get
away with all their crimes. They frighten the American public into
allowing
them to do anything, as long as they promise to protect us from the Other.
I
can't help but think that, at this stage in American politics, the
democrats would not be much better.
I suspect the relatively recent phenomena of democrats collectively
growing
a backbone has more to do with gearing up for the mid-term elections than
a
true committment to free the American public from a tyrannical government.
