Strengthen Black Institutions

The title of this post is taken, verbatim, from the last sermon Dr. King
delivered on this earth. That was over three decades ago. Why are we,
still,
not sup****ting our own businesses?

To those of us who consider themselves Christians. Are you aware that
Jesus,
like Dr. King, also focused on helping his people first? Yeah, I know,
that
ain't what your church teaches. But, consider what the bible, your holy
book, presents as the actual words of Jesus. You know, the words in red.

Consider the story of Jesus and the Syrophenician woman. This woman, a
Greek, has a sick child and begged Jesus to heal her. Jesus, at no time,
refused to help the child,. But, the first words out of his mouth to this
distraught mother were "Let the children first be filled". Here we blacks
are, so concerned about appearing racist if we adopt a Buy Black First
philosophy. Yet, here is Jesus, clearly and plainly, preaching a My People
First philosophy. Here is the complete story from the KJV, Mark 7:24-30:

"And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon,
and
entered into an house, and would have no man know of if; but he could not
be
hid."
"For a certain woman, whose daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him,
and came and fell at his feet:"
"The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him
that
he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter."
"But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not
meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs."
"And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the
table
eat of the children's crumbs."
"And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out
of
thy daughter."
"And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her
daughter laid upon the bed."

For the longest time, I didn't get this story. I thought to myself, how
could Jesus call this poor distraught woman a dog and make her beg for the
healing of her child. But, wisdom comes with age. I have matured enough,
spiritually, to see a few pertinent facts:

1) Note that the child's malady is described as having an unclean spirit.
To
heal the child, her spirit would have to be cleansed. To cleanse her
spirit,
the child's mother, the most influential human being in the child's life,
had to first have her spirit in harmony with the Creator.

2) It was the desire of Jesus, all along, to help the woman. But, all
things
must be done decently and in order. Even Jesus could not, in fact would
not
even consider, working in disharmony with the laws of the universe. These
laws were put in place before the world was created, and can not be
cir***vented. To receive Jesus' help, the woman had to first get in
harmony
with the program. Imagine if the woman had went off on Jesus, called him a
reverse-racist, and stomped off to the police to have him arrested for
disrespecting a White Woman ( I am making an assumption, since she was
Greek, that she was also White). Such a unrepentant woman would, rightly
so,
receive no help from Jesus. And, her daughter would have gone to the grave
unhealed.

3) Jesus correctly began by pointing out that his first priority was to
his
people. His people must be helped first. Let the children FIRST be filled.
As soon as the woman agreed to those terms, and in effect lined up in
harmony with the program, she effectively became one of Jesus' children
[he
who has ears let him hear], and Jesus healed her child.

Think on these things, the next time you get into your car, turn the key,
and drive off to find someplace to spend your money. Will you feed your
children first, or someone else's children?
