True, but we live in a truly disfunctional society, one were we live
in constant denial
about who 'we think we are' and who 'we actually are'.
A great example of that is the recent fall of Gov Spitzer...

And most educated Blacks and Whites understand that, but the rhetoric
of a Rev Wright does NOT tap into our intelligence, it taps into our
anger and angst.
But it is NOT lost on many Black people that Obama, with the exception
of Colin Powell is the FIRST truly serious Black candidate that is
being accepted by an ever increasing of White (or non-Black) voters.

I truly believe you are really are unable to understand why some
people in the Black community might view him as such. In the past 60
years ONLY MLK has had the standing that Obama is now garnering in the
Black community. I kno MANY Blacks who cringe with embarrassment over
having an Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson to "represent" us ( I must have
missed that day when they were voted in as Black leaders and I never
did get my absentee ballot..)

Perhaps, but would you imagine that a dog that is beat down for it's
entire life to be friendly and sane?
Wright is from a generation who is STILL dealing with the horror of
seeing the most respected and loved "leader" of it's generation
assassinated. (just saw the very same thing spoken about on CNN...)
So much is the paranoia in the Black psyche, that they think that
Obama will be assassinated. It is probably the unspoken reason why
Colin Powell did not run for President.

Palestinians, Jews, Sikhs, Pakistanis, Serbians, Tibetians ,
Laotians, Cambodians, Rwandans, Sudenese...... I am sure that
individually these and other groups view themselves ONLY in the
context of their own suffering...

NEITHER is Rev Wright

NEITHER is Rev Wright, except as a means to an end to eliminate a
candidate who has the "audacity of hope'....
Sad thing is America - Black, White or otherwise - is just too
