I am shocked at the racist attitudes people feel so free to express.
But then again, this being America, perhaps I should not be.
Why is it that white folks always have to pull out that, 'if you don't
like it go back to Africa' line as opposed to expressing that
Americans should continue to attempt to eradicate racism, ***ism,
homophobia, etc. Guess that tells you where their hearts are.
And why should black folks - the most loyal Americans of all - leave
this country. We were born here and can trace our ancestory back
further than most Americans of European ancestory.
Do you know that stateside captured German prisoners of war were able
to eat in the messhalls down south while black American soldiers were
not allowed to do so? Now what sense does that make?
White Americans really ought to learn the history of racism in this
country before they speak. And try to empathize a little. This country
was built on the back of centuries of free black labor.
Do you know that these great insurance companies were built upon
slavery as they used to insure animals and among that livestock were
slaves?
Again, you really ought to learn the history of the degregation of
black people in this country before one spouts off racist ideology. I
understand how difficult this would be for white Americans -
particularly white men - because when black folks wake up we have to
think about being black in America.
All white men have to think about is being.
