A Greenhills man is accused of beating a puppy to death after it soiled
his bed.
Lusure Griffin, 36, is in jail today on a $2,500 bond, charged with
cruelty to animals, disorderly conduct and three counts of possessing
illegal drug paraphernalia.
Police say they went to Griffin’s home Monday evening after neighbors
re****ted hearing him beat his dog.
When they arrived, records state, they patted down Griffin and found two
marijuana pipes and a crack pipe.
Soon they found the dog, too.
Officers discovered the puppy’s body in a plastic bag stuffed into a trash
can in the backyard. Griffin told police he’d beaten the dog to death,
records state.
“He…told the neighbor the dog pooped on his bed and he took care of it,”
officer Shane Miller wrote in a re****t.
In court today, Griffin tried to ****eld himself from television cameras,
pulling his T-****rt over his head. Deputies made him uncover his face.
Griffin’s lawyer requested a low bond, saying the man was due to start a
new job at Frisch’s this afternoon.
