Police said a few weeks ago two kids called the Tuscarawas County 911
center
several times
claiming that they had been abducted, but now they know it was a prank and
one of the children is
facing felony charges.
Deputies told NEWS9 a 13-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy are
responsible
for sending police
out on a search looking for them after they made frantic calls to 911.
Officers said the kids led dispatchers to believe they were in immediate
danger in Pittsburgh,
when really they were safe in Urichsville.
The Tuscarawas County Prosecutor's Office told NEWS9 only the 13-year-old
girl is facing charges.
The girl is being charged with two felony counts of making a false alarm.
Officials told NEWS9 they are not pursuing a case against the 8-year-old
because he's too young.
