A Cincinnati police officer is okay after he was the target of gunfire
during a chase in Walnut Hills.
Investigators say two officers were called to a parking lot near the
corner of Gilbert and McMillan in Walnut Hills around 4:00 a.m. after a
neighbor complained of three men causing trouble. When the officers got to
the scene, one of the suspects, Jack Wa****ngton, 18, took off
running. During the chase, police say Wa****ngton fired a shot at the
officer. The officer was not hurt. The officer then shot a taser at
Wa****ngton to stop him.
Authorities say it appeared Wa****ngton may have swallowed some drugs, so
he was taken to University Hospital to be checked out. When he is released
from there he will be taken directly to jail.
The other two suspects did not run. Officers are questioning them, but
they do not face any charges.
