While calling Imam Khomeini the architect of unity in the world of Islam,
an Indian scholar Wednesday said that unity guarantees Muslims' power.
Talking to IRNA on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Holy Prophet
(PBUH), Professor Baseer Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Indira Gandhi
National Open University (IGNOU) here said:
"Reinforcement of unity would guarantee survival and promotion
of power of Muslims and the Islamic world".
The most im****tant message of Holy Prophet (PBUH) is
"to be obedient only to God, to stay away from Satan and preserve unity,
said Baseer, marking the birth anniversary of Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Muslims should become more familiar with the Islamic viewpoints
and teachings on unity, Indian scholar told IRNA.
The birth anniversary of Holy Prophet (PBUH) falls on 12th of the
lunar month of Rabialaval (in Sunni tradition) and 17th of the same
month (in ****a tradition).
Baseer said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has been the initiator
of the idea of unity of the Muslim world and thus Imam Khomeini
founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the leader of the
Islamic Revolution, who believed in Muslim unity and solidarity,
declared the birth week of Holy Prophet (PBUH) between 12th
to 17th of Rabialaval as the Unity week in 1979.
The late Imam khomeini has always said, those who sow
discord among Muslims are neither Sunnis nor ****as, but
are instruments in the hands of the enemies of Allah, recalled
Indian scholar.
He also highlighted the significant role of Imam Khomeini
in helping develop solidarity among Muslims at this sensitive
juncture.
Global arrogance has provoked the sentiments of followers
of all religions through masterminding these plots, he said
calling for the Muslims to exercise vigilance to this end.
Referring to the significance of the issue of Palestine for the
Islamic world, Baseer urged all Muslims to use any chances
to form a united nation against major challenges caused by
the world arrogance and Zionism.
Strongly condemning the barbaric atrocities committed by
Zionist forces on Palestinian people Baseer stated that
Zionist Regime has occupied vast areas of Palestine territory
and continues to make incursions into the Gaza strip, violating
all international laws.
Through its recent aggression, the Zionists has illegally imposed
sanctions on the Palestinian Authority, severely cutting back
health care, education and other public services.
Baseer calls upon the world public opinion to rise against the
barbaric atrocities committed by Zionist forces and demand
immediate dismantling of the apartheid wall, putting an end
to the occupation of all the Palestinian and Arab territories
and sincere efforts for a just and lasting settlement of the
West Asian problem.
