The first aircraft ever to be made in Iran is to join Iran's airline
service fleet, the Industries Minister Gholam-Reza Shafei announced.
The aircraft, called "Iran 1400," will be co-produced by Iran and Ukraine,
Shafei said during a visit to the Aircraft Manufacturing Industries
Company.
He said that two such planes will be manufactured. "Forty percent of the
parts
have been manufactured jointly in Iran and Ukraine with the remainder made
equally in both states, " he said, adding that "30 percent of the
manufactured parts
will be ex****ted to Ukraine in the future. "
Shafei noted that with the successful venture a new horizon has been
opened
to Iranian plane manufacturers.
Iran's capacity to produce "Iran 1400" planes is expected to increase to
12.
During the minister's visit the first complete assembly line for Iranian
planes
was commissioned.
