Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, the governor of Riyadh, said
on Sunday that Iran and Saudi Arabia can be pioneers in
solidarity and unity among Islamic countries.
Abdulaziz made the remark in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador
to Saudi Arabia Mohammad Hosseini, adding that the enemies
promote seditious policy to sow discord among Muslim nations.
Pointing to the fact that Iran and Saudi Arabia enjoy strategic
relations, he noted that cultural, historical and religious commonalties
between both nations can play a decisive role in boosting bilateral
cooperation.
The Saudi official *****sed ties between the two countries as
satisfactory, saying that bilateral relations should secure interests
of the Islamic world.
Tehran and Riyadh enjoy potential to resolve problems of the
Middle East, he added.
Hosseini, for his part, referred to the latest developments in both
countries, noting that given the enemies attempt to sow discord
among Muslim states, Iran and Saudi Arabia should expand
mutual ties.
He added that the two friendly countries are able to bring peace,
security and stability to the region free from intervention of
foreign forces.
The two sides also explored ways for expansion of cooperation
in economic sector
